Hubert de Givenchy pays homage to his muse Audrey Hepburn

Hubert de Givenchy declared his love for Audrey Hepburn in a collector’s book released in 2015, containing rare sketches of outfits he designed for his friend and muse, with personal anecdotes and kind thoughts throughout. This vibrant tribute has now been turned into an exhibition at the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague, shedding light on the inspiring friendship and the things that brought the designer and actress together.

Hubert de Givenchy meets Audrey Hepburn in 1953 because he refuses to dress her for Sabrina. After a dinner, he changed his mind and she became his muse. In 2015, the creator pays tribute to his friend by publishing a book called To Audrey with Love which brings together his most beautiful illustrations that he comments while sharing some rare and touching memories that they had together for more than 30 years. From this relationship, full of respect and admiration, the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague has made it an exceptional exhibition that traces the links between the icon of Hollywood and its Parisian fetish couturier through precious archives.
