Spiritual Significance of this Lotus Flower:

This work depicts several lotuses in varying states of growth and a myriad of environmental influences, in the form of contrasting colors, contributing to the process. The lotuses are varying shades of pink, with the youngest bud a redder color due to its youthful passion, and the eldest a paler, almost purple hue. Above the flowers and the plant stalks protecting them, the sky is a dark grey. 

While this hemp yoga mat strap comes with every yoga mat purchased from us, we also made it available for individual sale as we believe in the value of this thoughtfully designed product we are able to offer at a an extremely accessible price point. 

Unlike most other fancy yoga mat carrying straps available on the market, we wanted to create a minimal, sleek and sustainable product stripped of any unnecessary components and using only natural materials.

In order to do away with using plastic parts, the knots on each end of the strap are designed to be easily adjustable by pulling the string and holding the knot softly, so it can seamlessly adapt to the thickness and size of your yoga mat through the loops. The entire strap is made of hemp. It is minimal, rustic and oh so naturally sleek. We chose to make the strap with Hemp, because it is the most sustainable material with the durability we are looking for.  Also Hemp is one of the most amazing, under utilized plant perfect for many industrial purposes, so we do everything we can to incorporate its usage in our product designs.

We wanted a quality mat that was not only aesthetically pleasing, but that resonated with the true spirituality and serenity of yoga. The breath-taking Lotus artwork of Bahman Farzad perfectly captures the energy and soul we want to convey, and so was the perfect design element to go with our premium mats. Sadly, shortly after our mats are developed Bahman passed away on July 8th 2016, so the collection means that much more to us as we commemorate Bahman's beautiful artistic legacy.

Our mats’ natural rubber is recyclable and biodegradable, and the entire production processes is free of any toxic and harmful chemicals. Our dyes are water based, free of heavy metals and harsh chemicals. This leads to no strong chemical odor; especially when using it for the first time. Even our packaging was made with the environment in mind; using recycled paper and all-natural hemp strings. 

Of course, our philosophy would not be complete without our ethical commitment. We have rigorous standards when selecting our suppliers, making sure every single person involved in our supply chain is treated with dignity and respect, receiving a fair wage for their amazing work. Without them, this line could not be a reality.

As the pink lotus generally represents devotion as well as enlightenment, we can see this one as fully entrenched in the lush growth of its surroundings.
